Why the difference?

This is my sons first bike so we wanted training wheels put on it. Well, they couldn't put them on because the rear axle was too short. Is this a defect? Not sure. But I did buy the 20" Stardust for my daughter that appears to be the same bike as the Boys Aerostar. The bike shop people at Performance Bikes agreed. We love the bikes except for the fact that we can't put training wheels on the Aerostar.
