Fine bike

May 5, 2011

Wife and I chose a pair of these - his and hers- to modify into what we wanted. I re-laced the wheels with disc brake hubs and put disc brakes front and rear - had to braze a mount to the fork and machine a bracket for the rear...That has made these two bikes into superb riding and outfitted bikes. They're fine, we've had no problems with either of them at all although I may be a bit heavy for mine....We're proud of them - and they have a good name - Schwinn!

Great bike for the money

February 1, 2011

I bought this bike at Walmart for $200 and it's been great. I've got about 1000 miles and MANY wipe outs on it with no problems. It shifts great, wheels stayed true and all the parts seem to be of high quality. I bought another bike that has more features, but the quality, especially the wheels is not nearly as good as on the Schwinn. Overall, the bike does exactly what it should with no problems at a good price. What else can you want?

No need to spend $900 fo a bike

January 5, 2011

I went to several bike shops. Test road Cannondale, Trek, DeVinci and others. Took the weekend to think if I wanted to spend over $ 900 on a bicycle. By fate, I had to go to Target to get some shoes for work and found the two Schwinns I have today. One road and one mountain bike. Both have aluminium frames chrome and blue. I had several blowouts with all four tires. I replaced all four with $40 top of the line tires and problem solved. I've had both bikes two years and that is the only problem with both.

Great bike!

January 2, 2011

Ive had this bike for almost 1 year and have over 500 miles on it. Other than periodic lubrication (no dis-assembly), I haven't had to do ANYTHING to the bike. I have crashed it more times than I can count. The eye-opener is that I bought another bike (not from Walmart) that was a little cheaper, but had much better features and that bike does need a lot more maintenance, including replacing of parts.... The Schwinn so far needed NOTHING, other than lubrication. The wheels are still straight, something I can't say for the other bike... All in all, this really is a great bike for the money! Everything works as good today, as it did over 500 miles ago!

Awesome Bike

November 23, 2010

I have the Black version from Walmart. I have over four hundred miles on this bike with no problems. I bought a second one for my son. We ride rural roads, some dirt with them. No problems. Thanks Schwinn.com for supporting all your bike with this new site!
