Great starter

January 27, 2012

I actually have a 2009 model, which is similar to this year's, although the current model has several upgrades, notably a flip-flop rear wheel (2009 was freewheel only) and a more modern seat post (2009 had the older style with separate clamp). That said, my 2009 got me into the single speed game. It's a lot of fun to ride. Yes it is a little heavy, but it has great balance and an assured ride. I eventually got a flip-flop wheel and have been riding fixed gear for several months and the bike is still a blast. The high tensile steel frame is kind of low rent, but so far is very durable and takes urban riding in stride. I've done some upgrades along the way and was thinking about maybe getting a new frame, but I really like the overall feel and ride of this frame so I decided to keep it. Are there better bikes out there? Sure. but at the entry level price, I think this bike is a great value. I have 5 bikes and this one is my favorite one to ride.

Fun Starter

This is a fun starter fixie, its a bit on the heavy side. You'll will have fun on this thing if you're new to riding fixed gear.
